Hit and Run Charges at Alarming Rates
The Numbers Alone Will Touch Your Heart
The Need Is REAL
Helping Hit-and-run Tragedies (a.k.a. HHART) truly believes in fighting for change. Hit and run charges are rarely made due to the lack of resources available to law enforcement. Hit-and-run accidents have become a real epidemic in our world. Sadly, the reality is devastating, and most of these offenders never face hit and run charges. The destruction caused by this senseless act has a rippling effect that reaches far beyond the initial victim. We have created and focused on many different avenues to help us maintain the values behind our mission statement.
We believe in our hearts that to accomplish our goals the best, we need the help of our entire nation. One of the ways that we have to quantify the importance of our objectives is through numbers. And these numbers are genuinely alarming. We want to shout to the world that hit-and-run crimes happen in astronomic numbers every day. We believe that when you learn the truth, even if you cannot help us directly, you would feel compelled to help spread our message. The statistics are horrifying, with 2,005 fatalities in 2019 alone. The danger is real, and it can have devastatingly life-changing consequences. In the blink of an eye, your entire world can change without warning.

The Numbers Don’t Lie
The Hit and Run Epidemic Must End!
Together we can work towards a future where hit-and-runs are a thing of the past. Towards a future where people do not flee the scene of an accident; instead, we all do what is right. Until the day that future becomes a reality, Helping HART will do everything within our power to support hit-and-run victims. We will fight every day to make the changes necessary, so anyone who commits such a selfish act will face hit and run charges. No longer will these cowards get away with causing such thoughtless devastation.

The Numbers Are Already Terrifying
And They Are On The Rise
According to the latest report generated by NCSA’s Information Services Team, in 2019, there were 2,005 fatalities nationwide due to hit-and-run tragedies. That is a 13.52% increase in fatalities from 1982 to 2019. The numbers don’t lie, and we cannot let this continue.
We believe that by making additional resources available to law enforcement across the nation, we can effectively stop the rise in numbers and eventually eliminate hit-and-runs entirely. Suppose we work together, so every offender faces hit and run charges instead of most cases being unsolved. In that case, it will deter others from fleeing the scene of an accident.
